Welcome to CESAR

The Centre of Excellence for Safety Research (CESAR) is a new initiative of the Faculty of Safety Engineering at VSB–TUO, funded by the Horizon Europe – ERA Chairs programme. Its main goal is to create a leading research centre dedicated to strengthening excellence in safety science, with a focus on hydrogen technologies and alternative energy sources. Led by Prof. Ernesto Salzano from the University of Bologna, CESAR will foster international collaboration and deliver innovative solutions to the safety challenges of the 21st century.

30 under 40: A New CESAR Initiative Giving Voice to the Next Generation of Safety Science

CESAR – Centre of Excellence for Safety Research is preparing a new initiative dedicated to the next generation of researchers in safety science. Starting in October 2026, 30 under 40 will bring together 30 outstanding scientists and researchers under the age of 40.
