CESAR at the Occupational Health and Safety Conference 2026
The CESAR – Centre of Excellence for Safety Research participated in the Occupational Health and Safety Conference 2026, held on 15–16 April 2026 at Wellness Hotel Vista in Dolní Morava. The conference provided an important platform for sharing expertise and strengthening cooperation between research institutions, companies, safety professionals, and representatives of public administration.
CESAR was represented throughout the event with a dedicated project stand, where participants could learn more about the project's research activities, objectives, and expertise in the field of safety research. A hydrogen-powered vehicle was also presented at the conference, offering visitors a practical opportunity to become more familiar with hydrogen mobility and the technologies involved.
An important part of CESAR's participation was the workshop “(Un)Safety of Hydrogen Mobility: Results of Experimental Tests”, presented by Vojtěch Jankůj and Marek Holuša. The workshop introduced key aspects of hydrogen vehicle safety, including the design of fuel-cell vehicles and their high-pressure hydrogen storage systems, which typically operate at pressures of up to 700 bar.
Drawing on experimental research, the presentation addressed potential hazards associated with hydrogen-powered vehicles, particularly under accident and fire conditions. The results illustrated the behaviour of hydrogen safety systems, including pressure relief devices, as well as the potential formation of high-temperature hydrogen jet fires and their implications for emergency response.
The CESAR team was represented at the conference by Vojtěch Jankůj, Marek Holuša, Julio A. D. Santana, Daniele Morra, and Enrico Danzi. Their participation provided an opportunity to share research results beyond the academic community, strengthen links with industry and public-sector stakeholders, and raise awareness of the safety challenges associated with the growing use of hydrogen technologies.
